Who We Are
Viridis Research is focused on providing practical, resilient, and sustainable solutions for both consumers and communities facing the most difficult water treatment challenges. Viridis products and technology, help reduce plastic pollution reaching our local waters; cleans and reuses a homeowner or communities’ limited water sources; and safely treats the most stubborn organic pollutants such as dyes, pesticides, and other toxic compounds. Viridis unique water treatment technology and experience lets us scale and seamlessly integrate our technology into existing infrastructure. At Viridis Research our goal is to provide inclusive water treatment products and services that empowers anyone that needs them, regardless of where they come from. Everyone has the right to safe, clean, and sufficient water and we are here to make this dream into a reality
We believe global access to clean and affordable water is not a dream, but a reality.
Viridis Research was founded to help ensure communities around the world can get safe, clean and sufficient water, through electrochemical water treatment technologies. As well as to empower those communities by providing the tools and knowledge required to solve their own future water issues.
Our vision is to transform how we use water globally and correct the systemic socioeconomic problems that are directly caused by this lack of access to drinkable, usable water. Globally sustainable and socially conscious water use is not only possible, but a necessity in this rapidly changing planet.
On July 28th 2010 the UN General Assembly declared water to be “a basic human right”, yet access to this critical resource is falling around the world.
Right now, 6 million Canadians are currently at risk for water borne diseases. These rural and Indigenous communities lack access to adequate drinking and waste-water treatment due to geographic isolation, extreme cold, extreme infrastructure costs, limited services and many other unique attributes. The cost of water in these communities often exceeds $45 dollars per cubic meter.
At Viridis Research we want to solve this technical and social problem by treating and reusing grey water.
Our technology directs the water coming from sinks, showers/baths, and washing machines towards our Viridis Treatment Tank, which separates the larger particles, while the remaining pollutants are completely degraded inside our electrochemical reactor. The purified water can then be returned for use where it’s needed most, for irrigation of lawns, gardens, agriculture and fire prevention. This technology doesn’t require additional chemicals and doesn’t produce solid or liquid waste, making it ideally suited to protect local fish and wildlife.
